Risk Disclosure
Trading cryptocurrencies and other digital assets is high risk. You could lose some or all of the money you put in. Only trade with funds you can afford to lose.
1. Purpose of this disclosure
This Risk Disclosure explains the principal risks associated with using the Steadvane Reserve platform and trading digital assets. It does not describe every risk. It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you do not fully understand the risks described here, you should seek independent professional advice before proceeding.
2. Volatility and loss of capital
Digital-asset prices can move sharply within minutes and may fall to zero. Market conditions, news, regulatory changes, liquidity and sentiment can all cause rapid losses. You may lose a significant proportion, or all, of the capital you commit.
3. Limits of AI and machine learning
Our platform uses machine learning models to analyse market data and produce signals and risk metrics. These models are based on historical and current data, which may not predict future behaviour. Markets can change in ways no model has seen before. Models can contain errors, may be affected by low-quality or delayed data, and can produce signals that are wrong. Automation does not remove risk and does not guarantee profit.
4. Hypothetical and illustrative figures
Calculators, examples and charts on our website are illustrative only. They do not represent actual trading results, forecasts, targets or guaranteed returns. Hypothetical figures ignore fees, taxes, slippage, spreads, funding costs and the effect of real market conditions, all of which reduce outcomes. Figures shown for one period should never be assumed to repeat in another.
5. Past performance
Past performance, whether actual or simulated, is not a reliable indicator of future results. Any performance information we present may not be representative of the experience of other users, and your results may differ materially.
6. Leverage and derivatives
Where leveraged or derivative products are available through connected venues, gains and losses are magnified. Losses can exceed your initial deposit and may occur quickly. Margin calls, forced liquidation and funding rate charges may apply. These products are not suitable for everyone.
7. Liquidity and execution
Some digital assets may be illiquid, and you may be unable to sell at a fair price or at all when you wish. Orders may be delayed, partially filled or executed at prices different from those expected, particularly during periods of high volatility or system congestion.
8. Technology, security and third parties
Trading depends on internet connections, software, exchanges, wallets and blockchain networks. These can fail, be attacked, be hacked or suffer outages. Private keys or login credentials can be lost or stolen. Third-party providers may become insolvent or cease operating. Blockchain transactions are often irreversible.
9. Regulatory and tax risks
The legal and regulatory status of digital assets varies and may change. Some activities may be restricted or prohibited in your jurisdiction. Tax treatment of gains, losses and staking or other income can be complex. You are responsible for understanding and meeting your own obligations.
10. No protection scheme
Digital assets and crypto trading services are generally not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or any similar deposit or investment protection arrangement. You should not assume that any compensation will be available if something goes wrong.
11. Concentration and emotional decision-making
Concentrating funds in a small number of assets increases risk. Decisions made under pressure, fear or excitement can lead to losses. Diversification, position sizing and stop-loss settings do not eliminate risk and may not work as intended in fast markets.
12. Your responsibilities
- Only commit funds you can afford to lose entirely;
- Understand each product and setting before using it;
- Review your risk settings regularly and keep credentials secure;
- Seek independent financial, legal and tax advice where appropriate;
- Do not rely on the platform as your sole source of information.
13. No advice
Information provided on the Steadvane Reserve platform is for general education and does not constitute personal investment advice, a recommendation or an offer to buy or sell any asset. Steadvane Reserve does not take account of your personal circumstances unless we expressly say so in writing.
14. Questions
